View Full Version : Filter Capability Not Working

For some reason the Filter option is not working in Data Manager. I am using SS3. This has not worked since we upgraded from SS2. I am able to Sort though. I have tried using both the "Quick Filter" and "Build Filter" options. When I select the filter option, DM will sit and think and then not give me any result based on my selection criteria.

Any Ideas?

This is a very useful feature that is sorely missed right now.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I had a similar problem. Open a ticket with Bentley and if indeed the problem is the same as mine, they will send you the fix.

Adam,

I did a search on the Be Communities website and found your post there as well regarding the filter issue. You mention that tech support fixed it, but gave no solution as to how. Would it be possible to post the solution here or on the communities website. At least this way others can find the solution in multiple places and not have to wait for tech support to respond. If you want to post it on either site, I will be glad to copy it over to the other and reference you as being the one who provided it.

Thanks,
Lee

Lee,
As I hinted in my answer 'they will send you the solution', they send you a few files to replace on the workstation, which fixes the problem. I still have the files but not sure about 'political-correctness' these days (what Bentley would say to this?). I will try to figure this out and come back to you.

IF you would like you can send me a private message and I will provide you with a email address, then I will post your solution. Couldn't care less what BE thinks. But I do understand that some still do

Adam,

AP Tech suppot was able to get back to me fairly quick. The issue is now resolved. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

For everyone elses reference:
There are updated OCX files that need to be replaced on your machine in order to get the filter capability working in DM. Since I am using Win7, I located them in the SysWOW64 folder and then updated them.

It is done, you should have them. Let me know if any problems. The zipping process looks complicated but I was told this way it will not be detected. Simple rename and zipped did not work with Bentley.

Hi Guy, I've got the same problem as yours is it possible to have the solution and the file available somewhere ?
Is the find command works for you ?

Give (pm) me an email address, I can send it to you, unless Aplant Monkey has a way of sending it to you.

You might want to look at loading the SS3 Refresh Release. It was posted last week by Bentley.
