I know that you can Automate SPPID using Llama but is there any way to Automate SPEL?

AFAIK , big No.
Though there is something called as IDEAL server and API. Which I guess is for external reports. Its similar to SPI.

Which you can pretty much do with an ODBC connection (http://www.run8tech.com/getting-raw-data-from-spel-db-sql-using-odbc.aspx) . It would be nice to automate some of the tasks that you can use Import Manager for though.

I sometimes dont understand Intergraph's logic.
SPPID and SP3D have very good API and documentation since these products started.
But SPI, SPEL have nothing. I don't think doing it is any difficult. I assume there may be some non-technical reasons here :)
