I have written a set of spec's and when I preview lets say a globe valve I only see one set of globe valves for the set sizes I placed on the valve.
However when I go to place the globe valve I get two choices. both choices have the same data displayed. is this just a glitch? how can I track down the bogis valve.
side note we have created our own company spec that we are using. I have checked and did not locate the second valve in any of the companies catalogs.

I've only seen it when the same item is in multiple catalogs. Try removing the Catalog known to have the control valve and re-build the spec. If it is not a duplicate run Piping and you will get the "not in spec" error. Add the catalog to the spec again and rebuild. This should solve problem, if their continues to be a duplicate it means the duplicate is coming from this catalog.

Or add a value to the user_notes column of the catalog and add it as a criteria for you globe valve.
