Bentley Redline

I tried using this today. First impressions are that it is a gigantic waste of time. Does anyone use it or find it useful?

When I was at the BE Conference they kind of talked it up like it was a good program... of course they would though. But I guess since it's free i might try it out and let you know what I think.

I guess much like Autoplant it's confusing. I can mark-up a drawing 10X faster than I could do a redline. There are A TON of tools and configuration customization so it's not a "hop-in / hop-out" intuitive software. About the coolest thing I saw was the plot to 3D pdf format. HOWEVER you can forget about clients looking at your 3D plot as it will require a very high powered computer depending on the complexity of the model. I plotted a moderately small compressor station we did and my rig couldn't handle it till I zoomed way in. If they improve on it, it could be useful but bottom line: as it stands it gets a 5 out of 10 from me.
