LISP Files

Where is the best location to learn about customizing the LISP files? It seems like everyone but myself knows how to somewhat modify then in a way to help their customization. :cry:

I wanna be able to try and fully understand the LISP files, fully adjust and manipulate the files, own, dominate, control this monster. :roll:
