2D to 3D Value Map

I posted a service request with Bentley but I figured I would also my fellow users.


We have been adding instruments to the specs, Control Valves, Flow Meters etc. When we go to place some of the instruments it states that the tag is related to a different Tag type. I have found that in the 2D to 3D Value Map table some of the tag types are different then what the P&ID is setting them at.

Can we have P&ID just set that field to AT_INSTR_ for all instruments or will this cause a problem when placing instruments in P&ID or in the Piping Model?

To my knowledge Autoplant doesn't care what the tag is as long as they are the same. I have run projects where I made every item in P&ID an AT_EQUIP so that when the 3D comes along I don't have to make any back door changes. Never had a problem so far as long as the equip tag type suits your needs with the P&ID. I would assume that Instr would be the same.... but this is Bentely and ASSuming sure has a habbit of biting me in the butt. :shock:

I have not tried it yet. Once the user is back on that project we will edit it then. I will let you all know.

The user explained via telephone that his issue is that in the 3d model in the 2d to 3d mapping he can't map to the correct 2d tagtypes. I explained to the user that it would be better suited if a good 3d analyst would call the user back.

This issue is Re-assigned to Kcouvilion 3:3
