hi bigem1 - welcome.
The best way to get answers is to post specific questions about what you are trying to do.

sounds like he is trying to learn autoplant. Your best bet is to open the training manual that came with Autoplant and start there. Autoplant is not normally taught in a college/highschool course. If you don't have someone that you work with that can teach you, then you'll need to contact Bentley for training. Maybe you can get their ELS training, and do it on your own.

Hi Bigem1,
I am looking for a training course in AutoPLANT and just wondering if you were able to find training for yourself. Bentley does only distance learning courses, and I am not interested in that at all. I am looking for a place anywhere in North America where I could have a classroom training for a week or so.
Any advice, any help from anyone will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Do you still do training in AutoPlant?
I may be able to help facilitate the training equipment if you find someone to actually train you.

Thanks for reply,
Well, this is actually the problem that I am facing - finding an instucror. I talked to Bentley representative, and they said they would come to do training at my workplace but they need at least 6 peple, to make worth traveling.
I am the only one in the company who needs training now, and I don't know who esle can do classroom training?

Why don't you move to Chicago and come work where I work and I can give you all the training you need.
What if you went to a Bentley Site for training?

I am (will be) doing Piping and Isometrics.
Coming to Chicago would be a good idea, I would love that, only I work for a big company and they pay the training bill. They may ask for certified instructor before I go anywhere. Do you have any training certification by any chance?
I found that dealing with Bentley is ridiculous, I talked to them on the phone twice, they said they don't do training on their site because they don't want to purchase AutoCad training license, but on the customer's site they don't need the license.
I am sure that people from all over the country contact them and offering them $$money for training, and they are trying to save on AutoCad licences, is that stupid or what?

Actually, It's more a consequence of the falling out between Autodesk and Bentley and the fact that Bentley is a direct competitor. That makes things "difficult".

Buying the licenses is not the problem. In order to give training with AutoCAD licenses Bentley must be an 'authorized autodes training center'. Do you think there is any chance that AD will give that title to Bentley ?
It's strange that whan you buy software you're not allowaed to do what you want, like sell it to someone else ... that is because you just buy a usage license, not the product itself.

We live in one crazy monopolized world. No wonder that microsoft is being sued all over the world for billions of dollars.
With Autoplant my boss actually is raising the question about switching to some other drafting options. If Bentley can not provide sufficient support and training for their product, what is the use of having business with them?

In Europe we (Bentley) provide training, even for 1 person, but we price it at a 'consulting' fee.

There you go!
The Netherlands are a great place to visit. I think that's where Peter is located...

Hi Peter,
Could you please give me some details about the training that you provide in Europe. What would be that consulting fee that you are mentioning?
Course content, duration, start date and the most important, the cost. My company does not want to send me very far away from Canada because of the high cost of traveling expences, but if the total costs (travel+training) will be reasonable I will try to convince them and would be happy to come for training to your location.
Do you offer all the training that is posted on Bentley web-site. I am interested in either AutoPLANT 3D user or P&ID user program.
If you can post these details on this web site it would be good, if not, please email them to me at atsilinsky@hydro.mb.ca. I will be happy to receive this information from you.
Thanks a lot

No,
Just south of The Netherlands, there is a small country which is famous for beer and chocolate and that combines the German work ethics with French 'joy de vivre'. Some people call it heaven, but most know it as Belgum ...

Alexander,
I can train, support and customize P&ID, DATA Manager, DATA Sheets, I&W.
I have a collegue who specializes in 3D design apps
and another one who knows all 2d and 3d apps on a user-level, but also specializes in AutoPipe.
I'll get back to you with info about pricing, or some good contact in US to help you out.
