Has anyone here added Drawing prodution menu to their structural menus??

I have added the menu but can't get the Work Area views to function correctly. It won't allow me to get the coords from the drawing. It not loading all of the functions correctly.

I think the problem's reason have two:
1:Have not all function's authorization. But some buttons should be able to use.
2:A problem in process of installation.you can only reinstall it.

Have you figured this out yet. I am also having the same problem. I understand that this is an old thread, so hopefully you have a solution.

Thanks,

no I could never get it to work. The structural program works differently than the piping program. If you don't use the 2d design center, all I suggest is using the piping module, and xref your steel into it.

We are able to use the Work Area Setup command, but I haven't tried the Work Area Views. Although they work very nicely, I believe the menu just creates viewports and uses the AutoCAD 3D Clip command. The functionallity I like is the storage of the settings and being able to modify/copy them.

Well the only way I could get this to work was to have the Piping Module loaded while you use the Work Area items. I guess this will do as a work around for now.

Jshelstr,

That is how we go about using it.

You'll be better off keeping Piping out of Structural models.
If you really want to use the Work Area functionality of AutoPLANT with Structural models, start a new Piping mode and xref in the Structural data. Then you can use the Work Area functions.
