The customer came back and wants the Hyphen taken out of the tag number for example they want 56-V-026 to read as 56V026.
How do I add a blank delimiter between AREA-TYP-NUM?
Thanks
I assume you've already tried it in Project Administrator?
edit: I just tried it and got all kinds of fun errors. Let us know what you find out!

Dave,
I get it where it states you need deliminators.
There has to be one for none just like when you place an instrument and you can have a blank in the number field (#b#).
why not just change the tag to be 1 field?

guys,,
this is easily done. Go to where you set your tag types... set your primary tag as A'T#N
This will set the tag to read "Letters'Numbers#Letters"
This should work

why not just change the tag to be 1 field? We have another program that reads certain fields from AutoPlants Database. So I think if we only have it set to 1 the other program goes haywired.

Monkey Person,
It worked.
When set this way does it still fill out the AREA/TYPE/NUMBER fields in the Equipment database?

Okay now that you all help on the Equipment tag issue. Now when I go into the model the nozzles that are attached to vessels have lost their tags. I see there is a tag type for nozzle AT_PID_NOZZLE. What would be the format for setting this tag type?
See attachment
Thanks

ok, you have somewhat confused me but I think I know what you want. When you say "model" do you mean the 3D model or just the P&ID?
As far as setting the tag type it is no different than any others. simply pick the format you want and use the proper codes. right now on one of my projects I have nozzles set as A'T-N-C which reads AreaType-Number-Code.
If I did not want the - I would use A'T#N'C. the ' and the # are indicators to switch between the alphabet and numbers without hyphens.

Yes the 3d Model.
A'T#N'C. This worked.
Thanks for the help.
I would have asked this as a service request at Bentley but it seems they are having trouble with their upgrade. Go figure when it comes to upgrades on any programs. We run into problems here all the time when IT decides to push them out.
