LOL. Anyway...
Some of the engineers here are telling me that to add a standard datasheet to Project standards they have to use the Project Administrator. They say that this was not the case in previous versions... is there anyone here familiar with datasheets and their creation that can help me out?
Thanks
Derek
Have you tried to import them from the .adp/.mdb file? They have to be added via PA however, once they are added you can easily transfer them from project to project by importing the DSTYPE table in the adp/mdb. Don't forget to "physically" move the datasheets as well if they are not stored in a centralized location.
...of course I am talking about the datasheet templates, not the actual datasheets themselves.

Thanks for the info.
Yea, the 'templates' are what I'm talking about. I'm not too familiar with how the datasheets work (although I need to get up to speed), as the last time I worked with Autoplant 2D datasheets was their abortive first generation product that put us off ever working with them for many years.

Yeah, to add a new datasheet to a project (brand new) then you have to do the PA / datasheet / add / wait 5 minutes / ...
After that, you can follow the procedure above to import your datasheet standards into each project (as long as they aren't client specific)
Hope that helps.

in the latest version of the software, there exists something named Extended Data. This allows to store all datasheet fields in the database, without expanding the data-tables. This allows to check for changes when datasheets have been changed externally. Retreiving this information from the xls file asks some time when importing them.
I advise a that you follow a training to learn all details of this method.
(ps: I'm a Bentley consultant for Plant)
new version = Autplant XM?
So the new version you can add/include whatever fields from whichever tables you want?
