I would love to have the ability to run the "reattach object" command to attach an instrument to a peice of equipment.

I have routines that allow to re-select the 'plant connection' and the in- and outputs of instruments.
I got them from our local support man. I'll ask him if it's okay to distribute.

Thanks PW, that would be great.

There's another good idea for the wish list... to not be so secretive with the hidden patches and workarounds. One would think that if one of us (Bentley clients) needs a particular feature, it might be of interest to others... why not have a way to either distribute these or roll them into the product...

The lisp routine to do this can be found in the downloads section. cheers

While we're talking about re-associating, why not have the command also be a button on the entity's dialog box, instead of in an entirely separate location.

Data Wrangler, have you noticed the buttons in the instrument CATT dialog ? they allow to select other tags for input, output, plant connection.
My lisp routine was developped before these buttons were added. And it's still useful because it allows graphical selection (not from a list).

I was working on hand valves when I posted the above message. I agree with you about buttons on the instrument dialog.
