Exchange drawing import options

Does anyone have any documentation on the working of the options you are given when you bring in an exchange drawing? One of the designers here is trying the 'search and replace' option on the valves, but it is not working as we thought it would.

We were hoping that you could use wild cards to replace part of a field (e.g. from "Area 1A" to "Area 2A"), but it looks like it will only do the whole field.

I hope I am understanding what you mean:

You only want to change part of a tag? Say the tag consist of P&ID number and a Number (PID_Num & Num) <-- i think that is the right call out. You wish to change just the number by using the "incriment by" when importing an exchange drawing?

It is my understand from talking to Ron that if you have letters in the Num portion of your tag that it won't work properly. It was months ago and I may have misunderstood him but I don't think so.

This is entirely within the SERVICE field. I just want to replace part of the field.


Which leads me to another question regarding adding the ISUFFIX field to a tag number...
