crosshairs/cursor problem

I have an AutoPLANT piping and equipment model, when viewing it in a 3D mode eg. SW Isometric view, the crosshairs cannot pick up on any entity, when moving the crosshair up to the toolbars it does not transition properly, the screen picking area has got smaller, so when moving from the picking area to the toolbars there is a gap/delay before the crosshairs turns to an arrow. When zooming in the screen picking area gets smaller, which is making it impossible to draw with. The crosshairs/cursor works fine when in Plan view.

has anyone come across this & have a fix for it? I have tried opening the drawing in AutoCAD too and the same thing happens.

I have not seen that exact problem but we have determined that we need our views to be in 2D wireframe not 3D wireframe. this has caused us simular problems with ability to view

problem has now been solved.
Solution that worked: XRef model into a new drawing, then bind as an insert, explode, save.

I have spoken to someone else who has experienced the same problem, that was his solution also.
