Hi,

While upgrading one of my project from ‘SQL2000 to 2005’ and ‘AutoPlant 2004 to XM’ same time, I lost connectivity of my piping models with database as shown in snaps. I am not sure where I went wrong. It was an old project lying on server. And when I opened it in PA I got some Schema error but I located the schema somehow and it allowed me to open project. I have taken a backup of project also using packager but looks like it not useful any more as I have XM and SQL2005 now only. Is there a way we can reconnect model graphic and database?
By the way I have successfully upgraded other two projects to sql 2005 out of which one was on XM and other one was on 2004 AutoPlant.

Thanx & regards,

Sameer

What steps did you follw for this?

I added root of old project in P.Admin, and switched to relationship manager to upgrade each dwg file to XM & Acad 2007,
Created an empty database in sql 2005 server.
Added a new path in P.ADMIN for upgraded project.
I dragged & dropped the upgraded project to this new path using P.ADMIN;
It asked me for new database name, I pointed it to new database on sql 2005, and P.Admin took its own time to create project with new database of sql. That’s it!
Two projects are up and running with sql 2005 server and XM; except this one.

Is there data in the new DB, and if so, does it link correctly to the existing models?

Have you tried to repair any of the models in RM?

Hi,
Yes! I have used RM also to upgrade but no use.
As shown in my first post in every model it gives database count but unassociated to model components. On clean database it puts everything in orphan layers.
Surprisingly when I tried PXF export/import for these models, it copies 75% of the components to new model, with associated data. And it does shows data on component edit. And it ignores or errors out rest of the component.
Thanx!
