hi
ı want to a piping to use program. but which to useful program.
is this autoplants verygood? or cadworx very good?
thanks
We used to use CADworx here then switch to Aplant for the centralized database. Though the learning curve is fairly steep, I like it. However; I have personally never used anything other than autoplant.

I tend to agree with Colby try out Smart Plant. My project has recently changed and it is a terrific program. some bugs to work out but overall a really good program. Very steep learning curve though as it is very different from standard 3D programs. It uses a Datacentric system rather than model centric system, all that means really is that the drawing is just a representation of the database at any given moment instead of having a separate database with an external file. Sounds confusing but really it is pretty cool.
Is Smartplant more efficient than Bentley?

Smart Plant makes Aplant look like a joke. very user friendly, few bugs to work out but over all very good. costs will be a problem, more like PDS so Aplant is still a good option for some companies.
I wonder if they would send out a beta version for testing or does it require an entire setup (computer / software)

Intergraph/PDS/SmartPlant... I hear its OK, but my opinion is go with PDMS its is also datacentric application, very customizable also is "head-to-head" with SmartPlant/PDS. Both of these applications are in an entire higher category that AutoPLANT/CadWorx. Don't get me wrong. AutoPlant is a great system and I used it for 8+yrs but I personally think PDMS is more advanced....but also comes with alot higher sticker price.
PDS/SmartPlant/PDMS are not geared or priced for the small companies. Even though they are priced higher, they out perform AutoPlant about 50%. So what a company using AutoPlant can do with 10designers, a company with PDMS can do with 5. This is due to the way the application data core is designed and functions.
Software costs cannot be a PRIMARY reason to select either one. You must look at how many designers, how much production and performance. You must look at what each one CAN DO and what each one CANNOT DO. Also you need to evaluate WHAT YOU WANT (deliverables, data, turnover model, plant lifecycle, etc)...then you are getting to "apples-to-apples". Just looking at the sticker price is "apples-to-watermelons"
If anyone wants more details on PDMS I would be glad to share my thoughts.

You will need to contact Intergraph Sales if you are interested in PDS/SmartPlant or AVEVA if you are interested in PDMS. Good Luck

I think it have three level of plant design soft.
1:PDS/Intergraph(In microstation) and PDMS/AVEVA(NO)
2:AutoPALNT/Bentley(In AutoCAD) and Plantspace/Bentley(In microstation)
3:CADworx/aecsoft(In AutoCAD)
You should consider all factors and then decide to select one.I think it are all very good of this software, because there have successful client of everyone.
