About shop and filed

Anybody who can help me to explain the difference between shop and field,fabrication and erection?Is shop equal to fabrication and field equal to erection?
Someone tells me that after the components are bought from sellers then they will be field components .
Please give me some explanation ,thanks!

Easy enuff - "shop" refers to items built ahead of time in a shop - like maybe a run of pipe between 2 flanges. "Field" refers to items that are put together on site - such as a valve, 2 gaskets and the bolting. So yes, "fabrication" = "shop" and "field" = "erection"
