Has anyone linked up the 3d Model to the P&id for instrument tags etc.
See attach drawing with the problem on PT's, PI's TT's. The text stays on one line which in turn is hard to read then.
Also can we turn off the Area number?
Thanks

Looks like a tag format issue to me. Do you have your tag formats set so there are multiple fields, or only one field?

TurnerSM,
Do you have your tag formats set so there are multiple fields, or only one field? Yes thats is if you are talking about the setup in P&IDs. We have 3 fields set. A-T-N for example.

Hey Packin31
I have used the last two day on finding a way to produce instrument bubbles with tags. How did you do that?
About the tag's I believe you have already answered the question. A-T-N means Area-LTYP-Num so by removing the A you'd probably remove the area. I do not know this for sure but it's my guess

Regards Jakob Right but we need the Area number for the instrument Specs.
In P&ID you can have Area field and not Display on the drawing. I was wondering if there was away not to have it show on the ISO also.
I am not in the office now put I will show you tomorrow on how to get the Instrument Bubbles to show up on the ISO's.

Hey Packin31
I have used the last two day on finding a way to produce instrument bubbles with tags. How did you do that? Let say you have control valves what you need to do is add the valves to the control valve section of your Spec. Once you do that then you can place the valve in the model as a control valve. Click on create tag and then you can either key in the tag or click on the browse select one from the list (that is if you have Control Valves in the Project Database) if not you will need to just key it in then.
In the past for control valves, instrument root valves etc. we would use Misc. Attachments/ Comments with container being a circle for them to be tagged on the Isos. Now that we have the models linked to the Project Database/P&IDs we use the above.
I hope that I explained this clearly.

Awesome!
I have always wondered why my use of topworks on valves didn't have any affect in Isogen. Using a control valve seems to do the trick. Thanks’ a lot, I owe you one ;o)
In my firm the database for P&ID and 3D piping is to different databases because of previous problems that I do not know about. But that is probably not be a solution to you.
Maybe you could do some editing in the file "C:\Program Files\Bentley\Plant 2004\Xchg\pcf\opcfhdr.ebs". Something like if the component is a control valve then edit tag...somehow. Unfortunately I'm only aware of the possibility but not how to do it. I'm sure someone in this forum could explain, if not your self.

Bump
You think they would have fixed this PT, TT, PI tags in XM. Looks like I need to dig up my old wish list and resubmit it to them
