Soft-Modding your video card

I have done this exact procedure a few times on all of my Radeons (works on GEForce too). Turned my 9700 and 9800 pro's into FireGL X1's. As a result, I have seen significant performance boosts when running my 3D programs. The good people at ATI and Nvidia use the same PCB (native card) for the two class of cards. All they do is unlock functionality in the drivers. The good people that wrote the procedure simply unlocked the hidden drivers. There is no chance you will damage your Video card as all the modifications are software not hardware. Happy modeling!
