Well I have some info on XM. I will touch on what I have heard and seen. If anyone knows of anything else please add!
Stand Alone mode replaced by "Brief Case mode". This allows a user to work independent of a project.
Distributive Mode will more than likely go away in the next version or update.
Project Object Maintenance Tool Replace by “Relationship Manager”. The “Up Grade Wizard” is now located in this area.
Also in this area is a “sketch mode” that allows you to put drawings in your model that you do not want to be part of a selection. So if you just need a drawing in your model as a reference when you run iso’s or reports none of the info from that drawing will be included.
You can lock and unlock lines. Deeper than layer locking; this prevents user editing if a drawing has been released for fabrication. More control!
XM will support ACAD ver. 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007.
New login in dialog for projects looks more like Microsoft outlook.
Display Tool tips for x-ref pipe and equipment!
Component Menu from spec browser – is spec browser is active and you right click a component you get a menu specific to that component.
Pipe support and topworks browser updated and now defaults to the most common orientation.
Use ACAD blocks as valid components.
Updated Connectivity Checker now repairs supports and topworks. Also you can run a connectivity report.
More catalogs added.
3D tags removed automatically now. Example: P-1001($) will go away when you save.
2D flat mode for equipment, like the one in pipe, is introduced.
The move to a more common platform with Plant Space continues and is looking very good! Currently AP and PS can share (and someone check me on this!) licensing, Project Administrator, and Isogen styles. Catalogs are now the same in both programs. There are other things that Bentley is merging but between AP and PS. Too long to go into now!
