I work with a guy that is creating a 3D program and he added a nifty tool! It is an interface that when you want to place a line number on your drawings you select the line and a dialog apperas with a the following fields:

size
spec
service
insulation
line number

and under that are three blank "user" fields.

to the left of each user input is a box with arrow pointing down (we have all seen that) when you hit it there are numbers 1 - 8 for all of the user input fields. You pick the order you want your line number in. size can be the third item in a line if you want!

Question...Why hasn't bentley made placing line numbers a lot more easy? It is simple things like this that user like and need!

I'd like to see that program when it's done. If you are willing to share that is :)

It is not my program, but the guy creating it would show it off. I will introduce him to this site!

Did you take a look at the annotation tool ? It provides a similar way to build a process line annotation, allowing to select from all fields in pipe-run and process table.

Peter, no offense but the annotation tool is very slow to use and non intuative to the avg. user. Just my .02 :)
