Rename/Update Instrument Tag Number

Designer needs to rename tag number on P&ID but states it can not update tag because it is linked to the 3D Model only way she can change it is to delete it and replace it and relink to it. This doesn't seem right.

Is there a switch somewhere?

we don't 3D here but couldn't you just delete the link or temporary link it to something else?

Once they are linked to each other they are linked. You just can't unlink them that I know of.

This issue doesn't happen all the time.

Tom, does this happen in certain situations? Certain tag types?
I can see this happening if you are changing the tag type, but not just the number....
