I am trying to ask my work to send me else, I will be a sideliner again. $700 + expenses = too much $ to go on my own.

I went to BE 2006 in Charlotte. It was well worth it in my opinion. It's going to be very hard to talk them into sending me and someone else to LA or London. I am going to try my hardest though. LA sure would be nice... then again, nothing beats London.

This will be a fairly basic session (depending on participants).

I really wish I could go to London, but there is no way they will be sending me there. They have a hard time sending me to LA it seems. I'm just waiting for the class releases for the LA conference so I can show the big wigs.

Has anyone heard anymore information about the LA classes? I really feel they are dropping the ball on this. I mean it's less than 2 months away and they can't tell us what classes will be available.

So we get a new Design manager who is simply just a manager. I am not sure how he became the design manager with no design background, but hey, that's not my decision.
So I bring up the fact that the conference is right around the corner and I think we should send 3 people. He asked who, I told him my 2D P&ID person who is getting better with the software each day, our ex-Bentley employee and myself. He tells me that he was thinking of 3 separate people. 1 being a new guy who hasn't started, a 3d entry designer, and someone else which I am not sure who since there isn't really a 3rd person to send. I laugh and ask if he was kidding, then lay the law down letting him know I will most likely be going whether the company pays for it or whether I will have to pay for it out of my own pocket and write it off on my taxes. ~~ Sorry kind of venting.

P.S. - Dave, you'll be getting an email from me shortly ;).... if you get my drift.

I agree we brought the BE Conference up to the manager of the CAD department manager, when we had a little private meeting. He said he wasnt sure because he knows how these conferences go and the last conference he went to in Vegas he went for an hour or so then went and hit thre slots. So because of his lake of dedication and honesty, I suffer? Then he goes on about how training sessions would be a great idea..... ummm hello? Mcfly, anybody home?

I leave here at 5:44am Saturday morning and arrive in LA at 12:45pm. I leave the following Saturday at 8:15am and get home here at 6:45pm.

Wednesday before our classes, we got tickets to try and get into The Price Is Right. Friday I think we are going to go to Sana Monica Pier and just ride around.

We're staying at the Sheraton which is about a mile from the convention center I believe. 711 South Hope Street LA, CA 90017

We're taking a bunch of classes between Sunday and Thursday as well. So it should be fun stuff again as always.

ah yes, sorry about that. I meant to do this sooner. Given that I have terminated my relationship with Pearl, they in turn have declined to send me to BE. Sadly, I won't be going this year.

yeah pretty lame Steve, I was looking forward to being able to hang out with you guys and some Bentley folks. As for the Intergraph conference, I doubt they would send me to this years but we'll see. :)
