Posting for Jedi
----------------

I need to put in desuperheater type tee. The closest thing I can
find is a mixing tee in an instrument catalog. But when I go into spec gen, and I pull in that cat, it still does not include the mixing tee. I need advise on how to make this work in the model

I have dont nothing more than look thru the instument catalog to see if they had a mixing tee. I found it, but i am unsure as what to do next. Its been over 3 months since ive done this..so I am very very rusty..

you need to add the catalogue that you found it in to the catalogues that the specific spec you are using will search through. you will then also need to add the ClassName to the spec so that it can find it in the catalogue. that should be about it.

filter for it on the spec with the expert mode on and see if you get a count.

Geez, now I feel lazy. I was going to tell Jedi to just use a general branch component.

I have put together some screen shots for you, hopefully this will help

To load the proper catalogue first click on the catalogue pull down at the top of the page in SpecGen

From here you will then see this window

You will need to click the Add button then browse to the location where the new catalogue is located. Once you find it click on it and it will then appear in the window above. Once you click OK SpecGen will reload that spec with that catalogue. You now need to determine which section of your spec you want to add this new component or create a new section altogether. I will use the GENERAL section as an example.

You now need to add the Class of the item to the section that you want to have the item located in

click the Select Classes button and you will see this…

you now want to expand the AT_INSTR section

You should now be able to find the item that you want to add to your spec. you may first need to go to the catalogue to determine what the Class Description of the item is as sometimes it is not intuitive. For my example I have selected the Injection Quill. Highlight it then click the arrows in the middle to move it to the section on the right side as shown below

Click ok and the item is now ready for filtering within the GENERAL section of my spec.

Hopefully this helps, let me know if you need more help.

sorry guess the screen shots won't appear here so I have added an attachement

This is what I love with this place and you all.

Where else would we get such fast responses.
