If you are wondering what tools are available to you to accomplish
batch plotting to paper
batch plotting to pdf
batching a group of dwgs to a command or group of commands
like block rename, xref layer on, audit,
whatever...

the dwg batch tool I use is Multi-Batch from www.multi-batch.com

there are other tools that do the same thing, but my experience with these guys goes back to the mid 1990's and for the price and service its second to none. If you need a very versital tool to assist your cad requirements, give MB a try. you can try it free in demo mode just to see.

to batch large amounts of dwg to pdf and keep the same file name, try acroplot by www.cadzation.com
its fast and great quality....

In the PDF files that you create, can you use the Adobe reader "Text search" to find a text somewhere on a drawing ?
-> Is there a difference if an AutoCAD *.shx font is used or a *.ttf font ?

If you have Hyperlinks in your DWG, do they stay working hyperlinks in the PDF ?

I do have free plotting from AutoCAD to PDF using GhostScript, but my solution does not have these features, so I wonder if Acroplot has...

Patrick, the text search and hyperlink are both untested by me.

I am having issues with Acroplot working with AutoPLANT. I am trying to convert a batch of "Export Copy" P&IDs and Acroplot alerts me that AutoCAD is busy. I think it it AutoPLANT that is truly busy and is affecting Acroplot.

Does acroplot work with AutoPLANT?

Patrick, I don't think that acroplot will do this. The particular draw for me was the ability to print PDF as a sheet size larger than 11X17. I'm not sure that there is a product currently that can convert text & hyperlinks as you describe.
