I'm using AutoPLANT R8.6 P&ID
If I split a project does it matter which one I package and send out? Parent or Child? It took forever to do this and I want to make sure before I send this out.
Thanks in advance....

tgg, I moved your psot here. I see that you have now indicated that it is actually a 8.6 version but I think this can jsut stay here as it really won't matter probably. Next time maybe quote what version you are using so that we know.
tks

the split/merge can be used to keep an 'as built' situation. All study and Engineering is don in one or more child projects. Drawings are sent back to the master project when they reach fe the as-built status.
So if you want to send out drawings to a contractor, it make sense that you put them in a child project -locking the drawings in the master- and send out that child as a package. When it comes back (as a package), you can overwrite the exisitng child with the new version, review it and update the master project from there.
