When firing off Autoplant is there a particular .dwt file it reads? My problem is every time I open a Bentley drawing my units are set to 1/32” rather than 1/16”. This is an easy fix in AutoCAD by just changing the units in your acad.dwt file but I can’t seem to find or know what file controls this in Bentley. My problem is every time I pull a dimension without changing my units to 1/16” it creates “style overrides” in my dimstyle and uses this rather than the dim style I have designated.

Any thoughts?

Here is the fix! Try it out!
In AutoPLANT, the units are controlled by an ini (initialization) file. The file is named units.ini and can be found here:

C:\Program Files\Bentley\Plant 2004\Config

Under the [IMPERIAL] section, make the following setting:

luprec = 4

Save the file then enter AutoPLANT and the units precision will be set to 1/16".

Thanks much. This has been driving me nuts for the last 3 weeks.

Quick story ...

When I drew my very first iso (over 10 years ago), the shop foreman came back to the design office with an important question. First, he asked me what industry I came from (machine/tool design). I asked why he wanted to know ... he proceeded to pull out a tape measure, and told me to show him where the 1/32" tick mark was.

Point made.
