View Full Version : Reports
I would like a tool that lets the user choose what fields they would like to see in a report and then lets them filter by those choices on the fly.

how about a report that doesn't rely on Crystal Reports. I hate this program.

Which reports are based on Crystal? I have not seen those yet as I thought all the reports in DM are based on the Access reporting engine.
I agree though, that Crystal is not my choice of a reporting tool. I just began the process of evaluating SQL Reporting Services for a reporting engine for additional reports, more specifically for our data warehouse. This way you could create an interface in .NET that allows you to select the criteria you would like...

What i would like is to be able to export the "view database" data.
This way you have already filtered using the autoplant selections, and "database view" pulls together all the tables for you.................
but then you can only view it???
export this data to access or xls would be a time saver.
Rooster, I am in the process of developing such a tool at home in my "free" time. I'll let you know when it's done.

Rooster2,
You can export all data from Data Manager.
I'm currentlly helping 2 clients who are adding nice reporting tools to DM.
Both allow a user to make a dynamic selection of which fields have to go to the report, one is building it with an XLs export/import tool, the other with a MSaccess rport generating tool. When I have the timeI'll post some samples and screenshots.
or better : Rijkwerd, Stefan : can you document your tools yourself ?
don't steal my thunder peterJ!!! :p
