Well, I did it, do it, and every time I do I think "ahhh I know what not to do now" and every time I f*ck something up. I wish bentley would make it easier to delete tags from DM, Like a dialog that pops up and says "are you sure you want to de-associate all data from tag and delete??" dialog box or something instead of "This tag has relationships and cannot be deleted"

Does anyone else dance around in the projdata folder?

that is without question the most frustraing thing that Bentley has in it's program. Cannot delete because of some relationship..my A@#@

Very frustrating and no I have never been able to figure a way aaround it. I have even seen it when I KNOW that there is nothing in 3D that is in any way related.

I just found out that often times its the link to Vision that causes the error. They say to find the tag in Vision and de-associate it from the P&ID. Well too bad the "remove" option is greyed out. Working on that today.

Back to my question, when this happens do you use a filter in the view/report or delete the tag from tag_reg / * table?

I have only ever used the Tag_reg

Yeah that's what I thought too until this last project. Turns out that tag reg is what is reported in Vision. Our reports are based of of the PNUM and PSERV fields in the Process table. So imagine my shock and dismay when I deleted a bunch of bad tags from tag_reg and they still got reported in DM. I even had an entire P&ID get deleted from the project by removing a tag from tag_reg (I&E loved that one). Moral of the story: Tread lightly when deleting tags from tag_reg.
