I created a vessel but it needs nozzels that are BW ends not flanged. I also need to be able to xref this into piping to add pipe to those vessel nozzles.

you will need to again go into your SpecGen program and add this type of nozzle to the spec that you are using. Xref'ing it into a piping model is no different than xref'ing any other type of file.

ok, I will look for that.. i guess initially I didn't realize that EVERYTHING was driven by specs.. I just thought we had to set up the specs for the piping portion of this software.. so if I include nozzles in my spec and the proper endtypes then i assume in equipment i choose to use that particular spec and i will be able to use the endtypes i chose.. i will try this..

you got it Haggards. Specs are EVERYTHING. if htey are not done right you will suffer. When placing the nozzle you will need to ensure you chose the size of the nozzle even if it is defaulted to the correct size. Also then select the spec that you want and the available nozzles that fit into that size range in that spec will show in a dialogue box, you then select the one you want. Once on the equip you can xref it into a piping model and connect to it directly with a flange from that spec and then start piping. It is a very easy program to use but needs to be set up in order for it to work properly.

haggards .. when placing your nozzles are you picking the size field in the nozzle dialog box that comes up? this will give you access to all the available facings in the size in that spec. Depending on the spec there could be BW nozzles.. ex cs150
hope that helps
