We build specs based on pressure classes 150LB, 300LB etc. We typically do not have a 6" 150LB flange and a 6" 300LB flange in the same spec. However the long descriptions are identical "FLANGE, RF, WELDNECK, ASTM A-105". The size, rating and spec are pulled from the database and place in the Bill of Material when generating isometrics with Isogen.
My issue is Isogen seems to only look at the Size and Long_Descr to separate / combine items. Sometimes, I will get 5 - 6" 300LB Flanges or 5 - 6" 150LB Flanges. I will not get the correct break down of 2 - 6" 150LB flanges and 3 - 6" 300LB flanges.
Is there away to make isogen include rating and schedule in the sorting?

If you open the %PROJ_ROOT%\Config\isogen\isogen.ini file and note the [COMMON] section at the top of the file there is a line that looks like this:
Material_Criteria = LONG_DESCR;PIECE_MARK;
This line means that the items in the BOM will be separated\combined based on the likeness\differences in the LONG_DESCR and PIECE_MARK fields. So you can simply add more fields (i.e. RATING) to the list so that those lines will be broken out.
Make it look like this:
Material_Criteria = LONG_DESCR;PIECE_MARK;RATING;

or add the rating to the long desrc

Thanks a bunch Aaron! We have been asking Bentley support about this for years.

Its funny they don't have more documentation on it (and you had problems getting it out of them). It seems like a pretty normal thing that EVERYONE struggles with. But I had to figure it out on my own. Glad I could pass it on!
