Has anyone installed this yet?
Any cautionary tales?

We had plans on installing it asap to test it out. However, with our workload (like many others) we just don't have time to deal with it right now.
I definitely will make sure it's installed Pre-BE!

Are we supposed to be able to use projects as is, or are they going to have to be updated?

Plus we will be getting new PC's in a few months so I figured it is not worth installing twice. Also the PC’s that some of us have are still on 2000.

you can install XM side by side with previous versions and run them both.
For P1ID the project structure hasn't changed it seems. I'll give more info later

well I've been running Both version for a week now. Haven't had much time to test, but have seen some improvements and plenty still the same. I'm seeing the improvements more in the Project administor areas then in the piping/equip etc modules.

has anyone noticed V8.6 lines having issues in XM? Mainly this relates to placing reducers on lines.... maybe a new thread should be made.

The company that I work for has installed Autoplant XM. We have run into a few issues with merging the P&ID's and 3-D piping software. We have had issues with the lines of the P&ID's that we are using. We have been suggested by Bentley Support to recreate all of our projects within XM to rid ourselves of some of the issues we are having. If you have any questions, I have had to rewrite many of the .mdb tables and .ini files in order to customize our projects to match the data set we are using in XM and 8.06
