View Full Version : Speak and be heard!
Hi, some Bentley reps are coming to our office next week to talk about what it is that we do here and how they can help us out. I have been asked to put together an agenda for the meeting, specifically to post questions to them. If you have something you would like to have asked, post away and I will ask for you. :)
I guess at BE there is also an open forum where regular joes can ask the CEO anything. If you have some, post those here as well. Here is what I have so far...
XM release of Autoplant software:
Do projects need to be upgraded?
DB Administrator consistency checking tools?
New functionality
Navigator requires .net preliminary installation, workaround for clients?
SQL 2005 compatibility
Autocad 2007 compatibility
Bentley "P&ID Diablo" demo...

Does Bentley dislike Dave Tyner and/or DaveTyner.com?
hmm, dunno Hybrid. Why do you ask?

Oh I dunno, just wondering :)
I figured they don't like the fact your site is set up better than theirs.... oh wait did I say that?
yeah. They could certainly change all of that if they wanted.

Some remarks on this :
If you check the number of Bentley-people that are member of this forum, you must admit that we like it very much, and yes, the interface is better than ours.
But Bentley wants to direct all support questions to our SELECT website or to our TSG-group (phone/email). That makes it easier to keep track of Q&A.
Remember we have 24/7 support with free dial-in numbers in most countries.
Directing all our support through a forum would create far too many posts.
The support is also linked to a SELECT-contract, that would be difficult to track through a forum, allowing non-paying visitors to obtain free support.
And not everyone likes to show their problems to the world, the competition might be watching ...
good point PeterJ - Thank god Al Gore invented the internet :P so we could have all these options.
