Hiya everyone. Just wanted to let everyone know that I have accepted a new position for one of the largest, fastest growing energy firms. I will be working with Smartplant from here on out. Thanks again for your continued support of the forum! B)

Thanks B, I am looking forward to this change. I know from what you said the software is a PITA sometimes and support is less than that. Ahhhh, I love a challenge

You know what-

After this week, I believe you will go home every evening less fustrated after working with Smartplant. I worked with Rebis for 7 years, went to Smartplant for 2, and am now back to Autoplant. Autoplant P&ID as a program is fragile. A lot of the crap we put up with admins and designers with this program (repairing drawings, trying to figure out who did what, etc.) just plain does not need to happen. You will see this, as you work with Smartplant. Yes, there are problems with the software, but it seems more robust.

Good luck.

Derek

I'd love to attempt to work with it, just to see what it's like. You know, I wouldnt mind having AutoPLANT & SmartPlant on my resume

I have worked with both for a while now. the SPPID package is a great software package. the 3D side has a long way to go but when it is done it will kick. it is very heavy on the support side much like PDS. Overall it is a good program but needs lot of TLC

good luck Dave, let me know if you need anything on my end
