chunfei211,
First off welcome to the forum. You will find some very friendly and intelligent chaps here.
How many xrefs are we talking about?
Sometimes you may need to go into the other drawings "xrefs" and clean them up AUDIT, PURGE etc.
Also do you have xrefs in the xrefs? You may need to detach them?
Others here may have some other ideas for you also. But this should give you a start.
Best regards

Chunfei211,
I don't use the flattener because of its unpredictability, but I have found that using the (AT_HIDE) command inside of Autoplant will flatten externally referenced piping drawings just fine.

Packin,
Thank you for your help. I just refer one piping model and one equipment model drawing, and I have detach all other xrefs in piping reference.
Zortar,
thanks a lot, I have successed flatten the model. the 2d lines have been created in model space,no in paper space.

You may also want to try and just use flatshot. Its a vanilla autocad command and does a good job with most of what we do.

I had problems with my Navisworks installation breaking the dwg flattener. It would give the same error regardless if I used flattener or AT_HIDE.
if you are using Navisworks, installing a service pack may fix the problem.
