There is a (CR-PB-117585 - Pipe insulation needs continuous transparency.) request that is listed in the fix for Hot Fix 3. But, I do not see how to make this fix work if it is an actual fix. We use PDS 8.1 and integrate the label data to the individual files to be brought into SPR. I usually create two display sets for piping. one the contains a find for all piping files and throws away level 56 which is the insulation level in microstation. then I create another Display set that finds all the piping files and keeps level 56. I usually wireframe the insulation display set. But the session still starts up with the insulation displayed even though I have that display set turned off. The transparency option would maybe be better. But I do not see how this CR fix is implemented. Any insite would be helpful.

haven't looked into the hotfix yet, but why wouldn't you just assign a transparent material to the insulation display set?

I've done that in the past and got the same results. Even though my display set may be turned off when I enter an SPR session, the insulation is still displayed. I need to turn the display set on then off again to turn it off for that session. I haven't tried the transparent material assignment into SPR 2010 yet. But since it does a better job of rendering, I will try it again shortly.

just tried it with version 08.00.00.0068 and it worked fine, either having the display set turned off or material assigned to the display set, exiting and going back it saved what ever i had set in the project manager.
