Update From Spec

I am trying to do an update from spec after having changed the Long Descriptions in my spec. Whenever I do it not matter what item I select I get the following error message.

Component contains an unknown spec reference and cannot be updated.

Anyone have any ideas ???

try using the following commands.
AT_SPEC_SCAN
AT_SPEC_REPAIR

you might have to push the changed long description using the at_spec_repair.

Did you change any other fields besides the long description? If you did the SYSID number changed and it doesn't know what the item is. I found this out a while back. The mechanical dept. messed up the schedule and when i went to change the long description and the schedule it did the same to me. If i just changed the long description and not the schedule field it worked.

there is a way to even repair what grinch has said, however it's a time comsuming process. sometimes it quicker to locate and remodel. you will be playing around in the database with this, let me know and I will dig up the steps for this.

Pxf the lines out, export, erase update database, then import, pxf, it back in, it worked when i needed to update the descriptions and Piece_marks

These steps are for repairing missing components but I used it once when I had the same problem and fixed the issue.
