Can someone please help me? Thursday I was able to place Ells and Tees in my model under spec J1012. Now I get errors (see attachment). I tried a different spec and the components worked fine. I checked the spec and the catalog and the components are showing up and noting was altered. I did notice this problem a few hours after a power outage. It was first brought to my attention by a group lead who is using a laptop to build and test specs. Note that this laptop was connected to the network just to get Bentley and AutoCAD licenses. The laptop was not connected to the network when the group lead discovered the problem.

I just noticed something. I started with a J1011 spec and did a save as to create spec J1012. In my model, I switched to spec J1011 and the components were fine. I just can not figure it out. So far this has happened to 3/4 designers using different specs.

The ZIP file should contain the screen shots of the error messages and catalog.

Do it as follows:
1. Goto Piping -> Setup -> Drawing Preferences
2. Uncheck "Default Spec. Choice"
3. Click "OK" to enable it

Good luck!
Samuel

not sure if this is it but I have seen before when the CL150 spec was moved or deleted and that caused all specs to go bad. Make sure the basic Bentley CL-150 spec is loaded at the root of where your specs live. This spec comes with the basic package and needs to be at the root level at all times

I just looked at the specs that came with the package and I do not see a CL-150 spec. I do see a CLC spec. Do I use the CLC spec or would I have to get someone to send me the CL-150spec?

FYI...In case this happens to you. I was finally able to get the spec to work. I actually had to open the spec in SpecGen remove the catalogs, add the catalogs back and then generate the spec again.
