Program locking up

Does anyone have any idea why my P&ID would start locking up when it gets to the Pipe settings dialog box when I try and add a line? It doesn't happen in every project - just in some. I cannot figure out the common denominator.

all I can come up with is to make sure your temp directory is being emptied regularly, not sure if that would cause this but maybe
