Hi all,

Just wonderig if anyone can help me with the grey'd fields in CAXPert PID Datamanger.

I was hoping to use CAXPerts to be able to report to excel, allow process engineers to make suitable changes to the report in excel then import the revised data. However certain attributes I would want to be 'updatable' using this method are 'grey'd' and cannot be edited, such as operating fluid code.

Can anyone shine any light on why this is please? And possibly methods they use to enable this sort of data input?

Thanks

Hi there,
just a guess, but my guess is tha only simple attirbutes are updatable.

Attributes that are "depending" upon other values (see your DataDictonary Manager)
or have rules where they tend to spread automatically from one piperun to another can cause problems when one piperun is updated and another not (yet)
So to be on the safe side, I quess they are not updatable using the report.

Another possibility is that the VB code, LLama, is not offering the posibility to update that attribute.
Or that your own "item tag validation" is a possible cause of possible problems, so that CAXperts want to say away of the attributes involved in that.

Why do you not ask them ?

Thank you for the reply, much appreciated!A few good reasons there.

I will more than likely speak directly with CAXPerts.
