Hidden lines are not hidden - they are continuous

The HLR options do not allow a "hidden" line selection. So after flattening, one has to open the drawing and change the layer property linetype to hidden. Am I unaware of something? Is there a way to set this to hidden? I can't find a configuration file etc.

Anyone know how to fix this?
